Women’s Pre-Trades Electrician Program

In working towards creating more opportunities for women to join the trades, Trade Winds to Success is excited to announce our partnership with Oteenow Employment & Training Society to offer tuition-free pre-trades electrician training to First Nations women.

This program will run in Edmonton, AB, from September 29, 2025 to January 16, 2026.

Participants will be given the opportunity to:

• Learn essential skills to succeed in the trades.
• Be academically prepared for the electrician apprenticeship entrance exam.
• Gain extensive hands-on experience with electrical shop projects.
• Receive support as needed throughout the program to ensure successful program completion.
• Be given a toolkit and referred to employer partners at graduation.

 

Eligibility:

• Eligible for Oteenow services
• First Nations woman living in the Edmonton Metropolitan Area
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Minimum grade 9
• Ready, willing, and able to work in the electrical trade
