Residential Construction/ Carpentry Program

September 25, 2026

Our Residential Construction/ Carpentry Program is taught by qualified Journeyperson Carpenters with Red Seal certification, years of on-the-job knowledge, as well as previous teaching experience.

Our curriculum is designed to set you up for a career in the trades:

During the Hands-on Training students gain experience by building a eco-smart small home from the ground up. Once complete, these eco-smart homes are gifted to Indigenous communities across Alberta for meaningful purposes, instilling a deep sense of pride and community impact in your work.

Career opportunities for Carpenters can vary depending on the sector they are in. The Residential sector focuses on framing houses (walls and roofs), installing doors, windows, and flooring, as well as finishing work like cabinetry, stairs, railings, and moulding. Commercial work involves larger-scale structures such as bridges, tunnels, and scaffolding. Maintenance work centers on repairing and remodeling existing structures of all kinds. This program will run from November 9, 2026 to March 26, 2027.
