Residential Construction/Carpentry Outreach Program with Whitefish Lake First Nation

Looking to start a career in carpentry or residential construction? Trade Winds to Success is partnering with Whitefish Lake First Nation 459 to offer our Residential Construction Outreach Program for its members. The program is from November 23rd, 2026 to March 19th, 2027.

During this training students will:

• Learn essential skills to succeed in the trades.
• Be academically prepared for and write the carpenter apprenticeship entrance exam.
• Gain extensive hands-on experience in carpentry and residential construction.
• Be given a basic tool kit at graduation.

The program is tuition-free, we will provide you with binders, backpacks, pencils, and PPE that are required for training. While in the program participants will build a high-efficiency small home for their community.

To be eligible you must:

• Be a member of Whitefish Lake First Nation and able attend training under the community’s policies.
• Have a minimum grade 9 and ability to pass a basic math & reading assessment.
• Be ready, willing, and able to work in the trades.
