

Interested in what a career in the sheet metal trade would look like? Sheet metal workers use many types of metal including black and galvanized steel, copper, brass, nickel, stainless steel, and aluminum to make products like air conditioning systems, material blowers, grain spouts and other air systems. You could also be tasked with making metal cabinets or tables used in kitchens and hospitals. In general sheet metal workers work from instructions to use various hand and power tools to measure, cut, drill, punch, bend and shape sheet metal.
We are excited to announce that we are offering our first comprehensive pre-trades sheet metal training program. Our program is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and certifications to start a career in Alberta’s dynamic sheet metal industry.
The term of an apprenticeship is 4 years that includes a minimum of 1,500 hours of on-the-job training and 10 weeks of classroom instruction each year. The sheet metal worker trade is a dual certification trade in Alberta, which includes gasfitter-Class B. For more information about the trade check out:
