Program Flow
Info sessions are held bi-weekly in Edmonton and Calgary at Employment Centres or Trade Winds to Success offices. After the session, clients are then interviewed and referred to employment centres for entrance into the program.
Career Training includes:
- Boiler Maker
- Carpenter
- Electrician
- Ironworker
- Millwright
- Plumber
- Steam/Pipefitter
- Welder
Trade Streaming Process - 3 Weeks
Informed career decision making, employment preparation & job maintenance. Those selected, continue to proceed. Those not continuing are reffered back to the employment centers for revised intervention.
Pre-Apprenticeship Training - Phase 2
- 4-5 Weeks – Academic upgrading to write the Apprenticeship Entrance Exam Level 4 or 5
- 8–10 Weeks – Union Training Centres – theory, hand tools, shop training and safety tickets
APPRENTICESHIP & EMPLOYMENT
Evaluation Stage - Follow Up Period
30 day, 60 day, 90 day, 6 month, and 1 year.
