Intake Process

Application Process

Information sessions must be attended by every prospective client and these are held every Wednesday at 10 am. You must reserve your spot in one of these sessions and by attending will you receive the application package.

Call Trade Winds to Success to sign up for the next information session.

At the information session you will learn more about the program and then you will begin your application. Transcripts, photo identification, and proof of housing can be brought to start your file.

Afterward, TWTS will refer you to front line workers in respective Aboriginal Employment Centres. These front line workers will conduct a service needs determination (SND) to verify your interest in the trades. Upon successful completion of the SND, the centers will supply a referral back to Trade Winds to Success. Once the referral letter is received, contact Trade Winds to Success to complete the application process.

Open a file with a Funding Agency after we refer you.

After all the documentation is in, we will begin to assess your academic knowledge in order to best prepare you to enter the trades. If Academic upgrading is required we will help you determine your next steps. Testing will utilize the TABE and TOWES and study guides are provided.

Show us you have a foundation of the basics and study, study, study!

Living allowances are available for eligible clients from your Indigenous Employment Center or your home community ASETS program.

Clients choosing not to continue after the Trades Orientation will return to the Employment Centres for revised intervention planning for a better career fit.
